VILLA FOGAZZARO ROI
Villa Fogazzaro Roi, the ancient summer residence of the writer Antonio Fogazzaro.
Situated on the Italian shore of Lake Lugano, in the municipality of Oria Valsolda, Villa Fogazzaro Roi is today the most precious treasure trove of seashell memories.
The writer Antonio Fogazzaro, in fact, chose the Villa as its "place of the soul", encompassing most of its greatest literary successes.
In 2009 she was donated to the FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano by her latest owner, Marquis Giuseppe Roi.
Antonio Fogazzaro (Vicenza, March 25, 1842 - Vicenza, March 7, 1911) was an Italian writer and poet. He was appointed Senator of the Kingdom of Italy in 1896. From 1901 to 1911 he was repeatedly among the Nobel Prize for Literature candidates, but he did not win.
