VILLA DEI VESCOVI IN LUVIGLIANO PADUA
Villa dei Vescovi is a Venetian villa located in Luvigliano, a hamlet of Torreglia (Padua).
Considered the first transplant of taste for Roman classics in the Serenissima hinterland, it houses the most extraordinary example of fresco decoration in the Veneto before the revolution imposed by Paolo Veronese.
It has been declared a national monument and is owned by the FAI (Italian Environment Fund) since 2005. The villa is open to the public from June 23, 2011.
The villa rests on a terrace at the top of the hill, with staircases supported by arches embedded in the slope. They are part of the complex rustic buildings, stables, gastaldo houses and four monumental portals.
It is rich in beautiful frescoes.
