MANTA CASTLE OF CUNEO
Manta Castle is a medieval manor located on the hills of Manta, in the province of Cuneo.
In 1984 it was granted to the Italian Environment Fund FAI by Countess Elisabetta de Rege Thesauro by Donato Provana del Sabbione.
Restoration and restoration works have begun, which have brought the complex to its original condition.
Manta Castle is also part of the "Open Castles" circuit of Basso Piedmont.
It dates back to the twelfth century, although the present aspect dates back to the fourteenth century.
Church of Santa Maria al Castello
The castellana church is anchored in the castle, where two special venues are kept, which are also due to the two most significant moments of the pictorial decoration that characterizes the whole manor.
Interesting frescoes on Jesus Christ's life - dating back to the same period of the baron's castle construction - accompany the apse of the church, while Michelantonio's funerary chapel shows a rich decoration of stucco and paintings also of manieristic taste
