GODRANO OF PALERMO
Godrano is an Italian town of 1,200 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Palermo in Sicily.
It develops, 700 m s.l.m., at the foot of Rocca Busambra and the edge of the forest of Ficuzza; It has an area of 3.887 hectares for a population density of 30 inhabitants per square kilometer.
In the fourteenth century, the site experienced a period of splendor. The house that stood on this land became the residence of King Peter I of Aragon. The history of Godrano begins in the sixteenth century, however, when Hannibal Valguarnera founded the new settlement a little 'further downstream than the original site.

Ponds queue Riccio
artificial lake around which it has developed a dense riparian vegetation, which is home to many amphibians and waterfowl. In the vicinity of the reservoir is a monumental specimen of Quercus Suber, estimated age of about 400 years.

Busambra Rocca (1613 m.)
It is the highest peak in the chain of Sicani Mountains and the highest mountain in western Sicily. The peak offers a wide 360-degree panorama that encompasses a large portion of the valley and the surrounding territory. (Photo of the fortress)
