THE CA 'FOSCARI UNIVERSITY OF VENICE
The Ca 'Foscari University of Venice is an Italian state university founded in 1868. It is located at Ca' Foscari, gothic palace overlooking the Grand Canal. It is considered the oldest business school (business school) in Italy and among the oldest in the world.
The University Ca 'Foscari University was founded in 1868 as "Superior School of Commerce" by Luigi Luzzatti, a renowned economist, Edward Deodati, vice president of the province of Venice, and Francesco Ferrara, Senator of the Kingdom of Italy, economist at the liberal mold and first director of the school. The school was the first Italian institution to deal with higher education in the commercial, economic and linguistic.
Since the academic year 2011-12 Ca 'Foscari is organized in 8 departments and 4 interdepartmental schools. To complete the educational offer are active the School for International Education [10], the Challenge School, the Graduate School and, in 2012, the International College.
The International College Ca 'Foscari is a high school campus dedicated to Italian and foreign students particularly deserving and talented. It offers additional courses in English and residency at the island of San Servolo in Venice. Admission is annually via a selection of qualifications and tests.
The university is a member of the Venice International University (VIU), participates in the Venice Research Consortium (CVR) and the Science and Technology Park Vega.
