PACENTRO
Pacentro is an Italian town of 1,250 inhabitants of the province in the Abruzzo region. It is part of the Mountain Community Peligna, in the Majella National Park and the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy.
The medieval village is located in a hilly area (690 m) on the slopes of the Morrone Mountains, guarding the Valle Peligna.
The most significant architectural element is the Caldora Castle, consists of a complex of three square towers (sec. XIV) arranged in a quadrilateral plant, surrounded by a wide moat. There are also three round towers to reinforce the outer wall (sec. XV).
Castle Caldora or Cantelmos Castle is an ancient fortification of Abruzzo is built on a base of trapezoidal shape.
