Empedocles (495-435 BC)

He was born in Acragante (Agrigento). Tireless scholar and deep intellect, was a philosopher, physician, botanist, architect, hydraulic engineer succeeding valiant in every science; distinguished orator, poet-celebrated by the ancients.
