SENIGALLIA ANCONA BLUE FLAG
Senigallia is one of the main tourist areas of the Marches, prompting visitors from all over Italy and Europe, thanks to the famous beach called "velvet". Since 1997 Senigallia boasts uninterrupted Blue Flag, the recognition that the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) issue to locations that provide quality of bathing water, attention to environmental management, user information, and safety services at the beach.
The award is given annually to beaches in 48 countries in Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada and the Caribbean according to the criteria chosen by the FEE.
The Blue Flag is given for two merits: the "blue flag beaches" certifies the quality of bathing water and beaches, while the "blue flag of the tourist landings" ensures the cleanliness of the waters adjacent to the ports and the absence of drains sewage.
Patron Saint Paulinus of Nola May 4.
