THE BIOGENETIC NATURE RESERVE STATE COTURELLE PIGEON -CATANZARO
The Biogenetic Nature Reserve State Coturelle Pigeon covers an area of 550 hectares of mixed deciduous forest and pine forest of larch pines thrived.
It is located in the town of Albi (CZ). The reserve is situated in the southern sector of the Sila.
Up to 1,100-1,200 meters above sea level is the area of chestnut and oak deciduous (oak, oak, English oak, the slopes on the southern slopes ilex). Other species are hazel, hornbeam, hackberry, while in the undergrowth are heather, bracken and gorse of the Carbonari. Of the 1,100-1,200 me the 1500-1600 m above sea level is the area of the black pine trees, which forms pure stands. In the highest areas become common beech, which is gradually replacing the pine. Other species found in the high end are alder, aspen, mountain ash.
Rich in wildlife: mammals are among the wolves, deer, wild boar, squirrel, fox, hare badger, wild cat, marten, weasel, polecat; among birds we find the buzzard, sparrow hawk, the goshawk, the crow, the black woodpecker, great spotted woodpecker, great tit, chaffinch, the cruises.
The nature reserve is located 50km from Catanzaro and is open along nature trails.
